Landslide victory of Congress
Congress party has achieved a landslide victory in the parliamentary elections in India. As the results have started coming out, Congress is heading towards a triumphant win.
As a single largest party Congress has already bagged around 200 seats and they are on the verge of reaching the magic figure with the help of their pre-electoral alliances.
The main opposition party BJP and its alliances are lagging far behind. The left front, who had withdrawn support from the Government six months back on the nuclear pact, has been almost ruled out. Even the strong pockets of left front like West Bengal and Kerala have turned their faces back from the left front. Perhaps the biggest Congress supporter could never bring it into his imagination that the left front has to remain limited at 15 seats. In the Indian context, Congress has swept almost in all the states. A lot of analysis will surely take places in the recent future.
The CP(I)M decision makers will surely sit in the air conditioned room in Delhi to introspect and come out with some one line political statements for the press.
BJP leaders have already accepted the defeat. The new alliance TMC will become jubilant and work out their strategies in the coming assembly election.
What we can perhaps conclude at this stage as an immediate reaction that the people of India have given their mandate for stability in the current parliamentary election.
